THE TRAP DOOR was a brilliant 'claymation' (that's animated plasticine to the rest of us) series made by CMTB, first shown on British Television in the mid to late 1980's.

Charlie Mills and Terry Brain were the masterminds behind the five minute episodes voiced over by Willie Rushton.

I was lucky enough to visit their studios in Bristol on several occasions whilst I was working on various merchandising spin-offs from the show.

On one visit I met a very young Steve Box who was working there as an apprentice animator, now more famously known as Nick Park's right hand man and head animator at Aardman Animations on films such as 'Wallace & Gromit - The Curse of The Were Rabbit' and 'Chicken Run'.

This illustration was for the cover of a Trapdoor sticker book published by Collins around 1986.
